Please note:
You are about to register your intent to organize a Buddy Walk® with the National Down Syndrome Society.
If you would like to participate in a local Buddy Walk®,
click here to find a Walk near you.
To register your Buddy Walk® for 2009, please follow the steps below.
Please note that you need to register your Walk each year. If you registered a Walk last year, it will not automatically appear on this year’s Walk list.
In order to protect, strengthen and maintain the integrity of the Buddy Walk® program,
we are requiring all registered Walks to agree to the terms and conditions of a Licensing Agreement.
Any Walk that does not agree to or comply with the License Agreement will lose all Walk privileges.
Once you have completed the online Walk Registration, you will be e-mailed the 2009 Buddy Walk® License Agreement.
Walk registrations will not be processed until NDSS receives a signed copy of that License Agreement.
Note to 2008 Walk Organizers:
If you would like to register your 2009 using 2008 Walk data, enter your login
credentials in the 'Log In' form to the right.
Steps to register:
1.) Check to see if there is an existing Walk in your area.
You can search by state in the "Find a Walk" section,
or enter your zip code in the "Search by zip code" input box located at the top of the page.
If no Walks appear, click here for a listing of the
2008 Buddy Walk events, as more Walks are registering
daily. Please note that NDSS policy prohibits a new Buddy Walk within 30 miles of an existing
Walk. Walks that are within this close proximity are encouraged to join forces.
By working together, the greater number of walkers and combined efforts of groups helps to create
an even larger and stronger Walk, making the Buddy Walk message of acceptance and inclusion even
more prominent in your communities.
2.) If there is no Walk in your area, follow the steps below to register your Walk. You will need the following
information for the registration process (Please Note: most of this information can be edited at a later date through the Edit Walk
Info section):
- Organizer information, including e-mail, address and phone information.
- Group Information (if the Walk is being organized by a group) including e-mail, address and phone information.
- Walk information, such as location.
- Three additional users can be added as Walk organizers, giving them access to the "Organizer Resources". You will need the
names and e-mail addresses of these three individuals.
3.) Once you have the information listed above, click the "Continue" button below to start the registration
process.
