Victoria "Tori"

Four-year-old Tori Rose loves to play the drums. She also loves to sing The Who's "Who Are You?" and the Beatles' "Let It Be." Other favorite activities include watching her favorite video, "Elmocize," and singing traditional nursery rhymes.

Tori's Mom describes her daughter as "a child that has brought strength and love into so many people's lives. Her personality just lights up a room." She says that her dream for Tori is that she will grow up to be a highly recognized self-advocate promoting people with disabilities and their capabilities. She wants Tori to have the best life possible and to touch as many lives as she can. The family hopes that Tori will become a strong independent individual and always do and be the best she can in whatever she chooses.

Tori's mom says that because of her daughter, she has gotten extremely involved in her local community and become a big advocate for children with special needs. She has been the president of the Down Syndrome Parent Network (DSPN) in the Lehigh Valley for the last two-and-a-half years and has organized the group's last three Buddy Walks.

DSPN's 2003 Buddy Walk was held on September 28 at the Louise Moore Park in Easton, Pennsylvania.
