Kayla, Holloman Air Force Base, NM

Fourteen-month-old Kayla, who lives on the Holloman Air Force Base in New Mexico, loves to explore anything and everything. She just loves to see what she can get into – and right now, her favorite is the kitchen cabinets!

Kayla loves playing with her baby doll, her “Hammer Away” toy, and “Ball Blast.” She also loves to play piano, drums and anything else with music.

Kayla's mom says she is so proud of all that her little girl has accomplished, including showing family and friends another side of Down syndrome. Kayla is also starting to walk bit by bit. As for her daughter’s future, says mom, “I want whatever Kayla wants. I hope she will be able to show the world all of her ABILITIES and be a self-sufficient individual living on her own.”

Kayla’s family walked in the first ever Southwest Buddy Walk in El Paso, TX. Last year, when Kayla was only 3-and-a-half months old, they also attended the first walk in Las Cruces, NM. The family’s favorite Buddy Walk memory is meeting up with their online buddies - Haley, Jeff, Kinkade and Grady.
